Georgi Chapkunov - Chap

Georgi Chapkunov was born on 24 January, 1943 in the village of Valchi Dol, Varna Region.  He graduated from the National Academy of Art with profile ‘Sculpture’. He specialized in Paris. Chapkunov has had over 50 individual exhibitions in Bulgaria and all over the world. He is the author of the famous sculpture of St. Sofia, made in 2000. Chap is also a co-author of the state emblem of the Republic of Bulgaria and has won many national and international awards.
